Day 1: Johannesburg

Arrival at the Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport
After collecting the luggage and border formalities, we meet the local representative who will walk us over to the hotel transfer parking
Transfer to the hotel
Check-in for the day/night

Day 2: Southern Kruger

Breakfast at the hotel
Transfer to the OR Tambo International Airport.
Meet the representative from the charter airline for the scheduled seat-in flight departing at 11h30
Arrive at the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve landing strip where a 4x4 open safari vehicle is waiting for us to transfer to the lodge
Check-in at the lodge for lunch
At leisure until the afternoon 4x4 safari in an open vehicle looking for the Big-5 and other game
At sunset, at a picturesque location for a sundowner drink and snack
Return to the lodge for dinner

Overnight in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

Day 3: Southern Kruger

Early morning wake-up for the 4x4 safari in the reserve.
Return to the lodge for breakfast
At leisure enjoy the pool and the game in the area until afternoon tea and the 4x4 sundowner safari
Return to the lodge for dinner

Overnight in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve

Day 4: Southern Kruger

Early morning wake-up for the 4x4 safari in the reserve.
Return to the lodge for breakfast
At leisure enjoy the pool and the game in the area until afternoon tea and the 4x4 sundowner safari
Return to the lodge for dinner

Weather dependent, tonight you will be sleeping in one of the treehouses (which is part of the special package), you will be up, close and personal with the African bush during this experience.

Day 5: Cape Town

Enjoy your last 4x4 sunrise safari!
Return to the lodge for breakfast followed by check-out and transfer to the Kruger Mpumalanga or the Skukuza Airport for your scheduled flight to Cape Town
On arrival in Cape Town, your private guide with a minibus (Hyundai H1 or similar) will be waiting for you
Weather dependent, as the famous Table Cloth could cover the mountain, we take the Table Mountain Cable Way up the mountain. Enjoy the spectacular views during a walk on the mountain. Should the weather not be in our favour we have other opportunities to visit the mountain
Lunch and dinner at leisure. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance from the boutique hotel!

Day 6: Cape Town

Today your guide will take you for a full day excursion around the Cape Peninsula! This is certainly a major highlight during your South Africa holiday!

Day 7: Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel
Full-day excursion visiting the historical landmarks in the city, the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden
Walk or drive by the Castle of Good hope, a walk in the VOC Botanical Gardens and other historical sightings
Enjoy a historical walk through the city with your guide, a historical walk through the V&A Waterfront where we have lunch (included) and a walk through the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden
Return to the hotel to freshen up
Dinner tonight is a special occasion full of African dishes, traditional dancing and singing. However, before dinner, we put our own musical talents to the test during a djembe (drum) session followed by a shorthand wash ceremony and dinner.

Day 8: Stellenbosch

Today we will spend the entire day in the Cape Winelands.
We start with a historical walk in South Africa's second-oldest city: Stellenbosch. Thereafter we continue driving to Paarl where we visit the Language Monument. During clear weather, we can even see Table Mountain in the distance. The monument is situated on the slopes of the Paarl Mountain, a gigantic granite monolithContinue to Franschhoek where we have a picnic lunch at Boschendal (excluding wines and Cap Classique aka champagne)
A premium wine tasting at a wine estate is included
Before returning to Stellenbosch we visit the Huguenot Monument and Museum in Franschhoek

Day 9: Stellenbosch

Breakfast at the hotel
With your guide we drive over the spectacular Bain's Kloof Pass, one of the most picturesque mountain passes in South Africa built by Sir Thomas Baines
We pop a bottle of Cap Classique (included) at a beautiful spot while enjoying the natural beauty of the pass
Continue to Tulbagh which is in its whole a National Monument
Lunch at a wine farm in Tulbagh is included
Wine tasting/cellar visit is included

Return to Stellenbosch in the late afternoon.

Day 10: Whale Coast

Check-out and departure with your guide for Hermanus

Enjoy the activities at the lodge or an optional Shark Cage Diving excursion (usually a departure from Gansbaai at 07h30 depending on the tides)

Day 12: De Hoop Nature Reserve

Departure to Africa's most southern landmark at Cape Agulhas
After the Cape Agulhas visit, we drive to De Hoop Nature Reserve (de Hoop = the Hope).
The reserve can simply be described in one word: BEAUTIFUL
There is a lot of game around, during the summer months flamingo, white sand dunes and one of the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets you have ever seen!
A bunch of activities/excursions are available in the reserve (see expert tips) and are on a first come first serve basis (payable at the lodge)

Day 13: De Hoop Nature Reserve

Enjoy the fynbos, birds and fauna in the reserve during excursions (not included), dune walks...this is nature at its best!
If fond of photography this is certainly the place to be!

Day 14: Knysna

Breakfast at the lodge, check-out and departure for the Garden Route.
\Arrive in Knysna, check in at the hotel and visit the viewpoints over the Knysna Lagoon.

Dinner will be enjoyed at the Freshline Fisheries Restaurant where you sit with your feet in the sand. They do not sell alcoholic beverages so you are welcome to bring your own!

Day 15: Knysna

Push the bottoms (yes, there are bottoms of all sorts in the hotel which was a former steam turbine to provide power to the sawmills) and start the day with breakfast
The guide will take us to the Tsitsikamma National Park. Along the route, we stop at the Bloukrans Bridge, Africa's highest bridge where adrenaline junkies do a bungee jump from the bridge
Continue to the Tsitsikamma National Park where we walk through the rain forest to the Storms River Mouth and its suspension bridges.
Lunch at leisure (recommended in the town of Storms River)

At the Knysna Elephant Park (The Elephants were not captured in nature to showcase, they were all orphans or victims of poaching or wounded) we will be very up, close and PERSONAL with Africa's giants. Take the opportunity to feed them vegetables (included) but...wait until the others are almost done feeding, then you have the full attention of the entire herd!

Day 16: Klein Karoo

Breakfast at the hotel
Departure for Oudtshoorn, the world's 'ostrich capital
Lunch at leisure (not included)
Guided ostrich farm visit with the owner of Rietfontein
The farm homestead is an authentic 'Ostrich Baron' 19th-century building dating back to the prime ostrich feather era in the 1920s and 30's.

Dinner is proudly served by Elmaré, the farmer's wife.

Day 17: Klein Karoo

Breakfast at the lodge
Departure for a day excursion over the Swartberg Pass. We drive via a back road known to locals only through the Swartberg Mountain to the Cango Caves (visit included)
After the cave visit, we drive over the scenic Swartberg Pass to Prince Albert where we have lunch (included). We continue via the spectacular Meiringspoort Pass back to the farm.

Dinner at the farm is included.

Day 18: Matjiesfontein

Breakfast at the lodge, check-out and departure for the historical town of Matjiesfontein
Today you will have another Karoo experience, this time in the Great Karoo at Matjiesfontein. The most scenic route is via the gravel routes to the town that was during its glory days in the 18th and 19th centuries an important railway station

One thing is sure, TIME STOOD STILL in this time, it is literally aback into time experience as the entire town is historical as it was dropped there for a movie set. The hotel is 3* but is an experience on its own...there are said to be two lady ghosts living in the hotel: Lucy and Lady Mary-Anne!! Certainly, pay a visit to the bar!

Day 19: Montagu

Departure for Montagu where we have another unique Karoo experience

The hotel is the only Art Deco hotel in Africa showcasing unique furniture in your room and public facilities!

But what makes this day more unique is a 2-hour chauffeur-driven drive in the area with an American Classic (one of the hotel's collection vehicles is a 1956 Cadillac Sedan De Ville and a gutsy 1964 Cadillac Sedan DeVille). Talk to your chauffeur about where you want to go, maybe a wine estate? Fine Cap Classique (aka champagne) and dessert wines are made in this area!

Return to the hotel for lunch (not included).

Day 20: Cape Town

Breakfast at the hotel
Check-out and departure via Route 62 to Robertson
Enjoy a boat cruise between the vineyards at Viljoensdrift. Relax and enjoy the scenery with a wine from the farm (not included)
Continue driving to Cape Town. Time allows we will visit the 'postcard' scenery at Blouberg Beach or if we need to take a COVID-19 test for re-entry into Canada this will be done at this time
We close the day with a stunning view of the city lights from Signal Hill
The guide will drop us off at the hotel (dinner not included) and bid farewell.
